Waterfront Seattle Utility Coordination

The Waterfront Seattle program is transforming Seattle’s historic downtown cityscape along Elliott Bay over a ten-year period. Its ultimate success relies upon executing a series of major subprojects and related third party projects, including the reconstruction of the Elliott Bay Seawall, the Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement, Washington State Ferries’ redesign of Colman Dock, the Overlook Walk development, and the Seattle Aquarium’s expansion. SG3 is the utility coordination lead, threading together an expansive, intricate set of interrelated utility protection and relocation elements and solutions. Our ongoing role has included stakeholder facilitation, interdisciplinary design and construction integration, historical utility research and records compilation, oversight for an extensive design-phase field investigation, and design services during construction.
